To-buntu or not to-buntu. That is the question.

Starting this weekend I have been using Ubuntu on my laptop via Wubi. It basically installs Ubuntu in a folder under the C-drive, and allows booting from it. So I cleared up 10 gigs of space and put Ubuntu in the folder. All this weekend I have been using it, and I love it. My internet connection is faster (don't ask me why), and everything is basically clean, smooth and free (as in... oh nevermind, I'm not -that- into it yet). My attitude towards Linux has always been "I will get in on my next fresh system", but now, more than ever, I am tempted to make the switch.
But Christian, you might ask, why havn't you switched already?
I am not brave enough. I'm don't have any problems with switching to Linux, it is the switching from Windows part I don't feel ready for. I have invested a lot of time in using windows, making it fit my needs, installing programs I use etc. I know I probably wouldn't miss it, but I just can't make myself press enter when prompted with "Do you want to delete everything?" If only everything just stopped working and I was left without a choice - that would work. I have a few excuses though, TI-Interactive is a program I need to use these days, and based on what I have read it seems to be a little dodgy with Wine. I will have to try this myself though. And also there is data-studio and perhaps Graphical Analysis I need to use. *sigh* Excuses, excuses....
But Christian, you might ask, why don't you just install it on a separate partition?
Well, the place I really want it, on my laptop, only has a 80 GB harddrive. Also, I promised myself to go all or nothing. I will go all or nothing. I think... Perhaps....

I really like using the computer in the way I am now. Why don't I continue like this? Hibernate doesn't work, and for someone like me who uses the computer at school and has to be able to move it into and out of my bag at a rather rapid rate - it's a must.

So, who knows what the future will bring. And if you just read this blog-post, congratulations. You are extremely likely to have been the only one to ever read it.
